The MV Hondius was launched for the first time in the summer of 2019. It is the world's first registered Polar Class 6 ship and meets the latest and highest Lloyd's Register standards for ice-strengthened cruise ships. MV Hondius is one of the most flexible, advanced and innovative cruise ships in the polar regions. With its LED lighting, steam heating, biodegradable paints and lubricants and state-of-the-art energy management systems that keep fuel consumption and CO2 emissions to a minimum, this ship is one of the most environmentally friendly ships in the polar seas. On board Hondius you can enjoy the wild landscape and wildlife to the maximum while having a minimal impact on it.
Spacious cabins are waiting for you on board, varying between luxurious suites with private balconies, suites, superior cabins, twin window and porthole cabins, and triple and quadruple cabins with portholes. In total, up to 170 passengers can be accommodated aboard the Hondius.
You can relax in the panoramic lounge or listen to the lectures and presentations of the guides in the auditorium. There is also a spacious restaurant, a bar and a small library on board to round off your stay on board.
